And so. My beloved Stereolab is playing down the street from me, April 6th. Air will be at the Gothic Theatre in Colorado, where I saw Doves/Webb Brothers a "few whiffins past" (see: David Cross). Gee, I wonder if Steve will want to head to the Rocky Mountains for a trip to see our Crackbaby, Amy, and Air. I wonder.

    DREAM: In the office

I had a marvelous dream that I was walking around my office with my chin held high in the air. If you know me you'll know I usually walk with my head down, watching my feet. This is not necessarily so much body language that is reflecting my current mood in so much as I just really like my shoes. In the dream I was showing different people my cubicle in a tour-like setting, and then listening to Oingo Boingo on a boom box.

Peter Pan boys usually don't vote or grow up...ya know?

Folks, don't we know this already? Naturally, Dennis Miller is a republican. He has been for years. It always amazes me when people don't realize this. Yes, the man is hilarious, biting, even realistic at times (hell, most of the time). However, he is, and has been a Republican supporter for some time.

Oh yes, and Candice says: "HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED HOW AFTER THE AGE OF 30 ITS NOT OKAY TO BE A LOW LIFE SCUM WITHA RETAIL JOB WHO STILL SPENDS THEIR MONEY FOOLISHLY CANT PAY THEIR BILLS AND DATES BOY-LOOKING 20 YEAR OLDS BECAUSE YOURE QUEER?"

There are a ton of great shows coming up in the Twin Cities. I've been checking pollstar.com obsessively and it seems like most of the concert droughts haven't been only in our area. On second thought, the 30 below zero wind chill probably doesn't scream "road trip here, please". Check out the list to the left, and please note: Harvey Korman and Tim Conway will be a block from my house very, very soon.

Despite the cold, I have been dreaming about green. Lots of green. Trees, fields, the ocean. Seattle. I keep having dreams about Seattle. After talking to Steve about vacation ideas, we decided to visit Seattle later this year. It was down to that or NYC, and fortunately, in both cities we have friends/family from which to mooch couch space. Steve hasn't been to either, and it's the west coast I'm longing for; preparations will begin when we return from Iceland. Can you say, wanderlust, kids?

Tired, want to be at home. Sitting at my desk, at the moment, looking at my tank of fish. Must be nice to swim your entire life.

    Tony, my beloved bicycle

Lately, I have been constantly dreaming about my red bike, Tony. He's a Giant ATX760 mountain bike I bought with insurance money from an accident I was in, 11 years ago this May. Tony has been with me from the beginning, and I have deserted him. Right now he's sitting in a cold dark basement, leaning against the rest of the boxes containing all of my records, art books, and happy junk. This spring I must bring him home to Minneapolis; I can't handle the guilt.

One dream was basically Tony and I walking around, me pushing him on flat tires. I had to find water to fill him up (there was a hole in the frame where his sternum would be had he been a person). I found a fountain full of pennies and guppies, and scooped enough water to save Tony's life. There was a lot more to it, but that's the basic idea.

Last night's dream had me carrying Tony through a city, and taking an elevator to the 100th floor. I was wearing a white skirt and I was getting angry that the black rubber on the tires was marking it up. It wasn't Tony's fault, I hadn't taken care of him, and his tires were flat.

Yes, I am full of guilt, but you must understand that I have a Pee Wee's Big Adventure-type relationship with my bike. If anything happened to it, I would be crushed.

We got our tickets for Iceland in the mail. It's closer by the minute!! I went to this website to hear some Icelandic, just in case; where's the toilet, and I need English, etc. Lemme just say: we are in big trouble.

    Nightmare: Death by Airplane

So I had a dream that my friend Amy, the crackbaby, and I were traveling via airplane. We arrived at our destination point and the door opened; yet right before they allowed the passengers to unload, of which I was the first in line, the plane took off and the pilot frantically announced that the plane could not dock and that we would have to continue on to the next available port. Unfortunately, I was stuck halfway hanging out of the plane, one hand grasping a handle inside and the other holding uselessly onto the body of the plane. I felt as if I was going to fall, and sure enough, after a short blackout I came to and saw my lifeless body laying on the ground. My body had aged several decades and I had put on a old-lady weight and looked like a grandma. The rest of the dream I asked everyone I came into contact with if they could help me remember how I had died.
